“Modern problems of the neurobiology and psychopharmacology of posttraumatic stress disorders and anxiety disorders”
2017 has become a jubilee for the International Education Courses held under the auspices of the International College of Neuropsychopharmacology (CINP) and on the initiative of Mental Health Research Institute (Tomsk, Russia). In this year the Courses were held for the fifth time. In Tomsk on May 15, the Courses “Modern problems of the neurobiology and psychopharmacology of posttraumatic stress disorders and anxiety disorders” began their work and continued on May 17 in Kemerovo and on May 19 in Novosibirsk.
The Courses were organized in cooperation with institution of the Federal Agency for Scientific Organizations: Mental Health Research Institute, Tomsk National Research Medical Center, Russian Academy of Sciences; State Scientific-Research Institute of Physiology & Basic Medicine and National Research Novosibirsk State University.
Foreign scientists: Prof. Emeritus Brian E. Leonard (Galway, Ireland), Prof. Anton J. M. Loonen (Groningen, the Netherlands) and domestic scientists: Prof. Mikhail M. Axenov and Dr. German G. Simutkin (Tomsk, Russia); Prof. Anatoly A. Ovchinnikov and Tatiana V. Lipina (Novosibirsk, Russia) participated in the Courses and presented their lectures.
The International Education Courses “Modern problems of the neurobiology and psychopharmacology of posttraumatic stress disorders and anxiety disorders” in all cities were accredited in the CME system with awarding 6 education credits. According to results of testing the participants obtained Certificate of Training and Certificate of Participation. The audience was represented by psychiatrists, addiction specialists and specialists oriented at practical healthcare and clinical studies in the field of psychiatry and researchers with interest in fundamental aspects of neurobiology, neuropsychopharmacology, psychiatry.
In work of the Educational Courses in Tomsk 171 persons participated, in Kemerovo 150 participants were registered, in Novosibirsk – 170 persons: most participants were psychiatrists and addiction specialists, researchers, resident doctors and postgraduate students. Employees of all specialized medical institutions of the Tomsk, Kemerovo and Novosibirsk Regions showed interest in participation, including employees of specialized Departments of the Siberian State Medical University, Kemerovo State Medical University and Novosibirsk State Medical University. Researchers of Mental Health Research Institute, State Scientific-Research Institute of Physiology and Basic Medicine, Research Institute of Basic and Clinical Immunology, Research Institute of Tuberculosis attended and participated in the Courses.
The Education Courses were finalized by discussion of lectures. As a whole, high professional erudition of the invited foreign and Russian speakers and interest of the audience in topics of the lectures were noted. The lectures concerned various aspects of neuropsychopharmacology and neurobiology of posttraumatic stress disorders and anxiety disorders: from novel basic research in the field of pathogenesis to practical developments and clinical use of medications with different mechanism of action. Successful experience of organizing the Courses is an evidence of high practical significance and availability of further cooperation both in educational area and in the field of basic scientific research. Participants of a series of Education Courses expressed their opinion that similar activities in region of Siberia are relevant and necessary.
