History - Volume 1

Volume I covers the rise of psychopharmacology and traces the history of the new field and of the CINP to about 1970. This is a source book, based  on a collection of memoirs of those who were there.

Volume II covers the triumph of psychopharmacology in the 1970s and traces the story of the CINP during that period. This is  a source book, based  on a collection of memoirs of those who were there.

 

 

History - Volume 3

Volume III covers the transformation of psychopharmacology to neuropsychopharacology in the 1980s and traces the story of the CINP during that period. This is  a source book, based  on a collection of memoirs of those who were there.

 

 

History - Volume 4

Volume IV  covers the story of the 1990s is complemented by reflections on twentieth-century psychopharmacology by the few of those who actively participated  throughout the development of the field. 

 

 

Pioneers - Volume 1

Volume I in the series 'Pioneers in Neuropsychopharmacology.'

Joel Elkes was recipient of the CINP-Pfizer Pioneers in  Psychopharmacology  Award at the XXXIst CINP Congress in Glasgow. The content of  this book is not restricted  to a collection of Elkes' papers in neuropsychopharmacology, but includes also his contributions to other areas of behavioral  science  and some of his personal reflections. Elkes connects. His interests range wide - from molecular building blocks of the brain to social behavior. In each area his inquisitive spirit  poses questions, questions he continues to ask  even if answers are not readily forthcoming
