The winner of the 2010 Max Hamilton Memorial Prize is:
Jean Martin Beaulieu, Canada

Dr. Jean Martin Beaulieu obtained a PhD in Neuroscience from McGill University (Montréal, Canada) for his work on the contribution of protein: protein interactions to neuronal degeneration in animal models of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. He then moved to the group of Dr Marc Caron at Duke University (Durham, NC, USA) to pursue research on the role of protein complexes in receptor signalling. Dr Beaulieu’s research on dopamine receptor signalling in vivo as has led to the identification of beta arrestin mediated mechanisms of action for lithium and antipsychotics. He continues to research how changes in signalling processes participate in the regulation of behaviour by various psychiatric drugs
