The CINP 28th Congress is soon upon us - taking place in the beautiful city of Stockholm, Sweden on 3 - 7 June 2012 and will be another informative exchange of research and ideas. The Scientific Programme is an exciting mix of both Plenary Lectures and Symposia being accompanied by Education Debates and Workshops and Industry Satellite sessions. The next thematic meeting will take place in Jerusalem, Israel on 21-23 April 2013. The meeting, held at the Inbal Hotel in Jerusalem, will focus on: "Pharmacogenomics and Personalised Medicine in Psychiatry". The call for symposia proposals is now open online.

One of the objectives of the CINP is to engage the field in a scholarly debate about some of the pressing issues of our times. The issue of how effective antidepressants are has become very relevant recently with authorities expressing a wide range of opinion - from those who consider them life-saving to others who consider them only marginally effective. CINP feels it is critical that this issue be further debated, and through dialogue, better understood. With that in mind we have initiated a 'Perspectives' series, where a topic is initiated with a lead article and then a debate ensues through input by other expert discussants.
