CINP History Books Online
The four volumes on the History of Psychopharmacology and the CINP, As Told in Autobiography are now avaiable online on CINP’s website here .
Prepared by CINP’s History Committee (eds. T.A. Ban, D. Healy and E. Shorter,) it includes
- The Rise of Psychopharmacology in the 1950s and 1960s (Volume I)
- The Triumph of Psychopharmacology in the 1970s (Volume II)
- From Psychopharmacology to Neuropsychopharmacology in the 1980s (Volume III),
- Reflections on Twentieth-Century Psychopharmacology (Volume IV).
This is the first series of source books on the birth and the first decades in the development of the field. It is based on a collection of memoirs of those who were there and participated in this development.
Also available now online on CINP’s website is
- Selected Writings of Joel Elkes (edited by T.A. Ban,)
the first volume in the Pioneers in Psychopharmacology series. Elkes was recipient of the CINP-Pfizer Pioneers in Psychopharmacology Award in 1998.
These five books can now be read and downloaded from CINPs website. The books will become also available for purchase as hardcopy and e-book for the Amazon Kindle, in due course.
