On behalf of the Local Organising Committee I invite you to Dublin to attend the 2015 CINP Thematic Meeting on “Stress, inflammation and depression: focus on novel psychotropic drug targets”.

June is usually the best month of the year to visit Ireland with regard to the weather and the Trinity College Dublin campus, the venue for the meeting, is particularly attractive in early summer.

Those who have never visited Ireland before will, I am sure, enjoy the artistic and cultural life of our capital city and its oldest university, Trinity College.

The concept of the CINP Thematic Meetings is to explore different developing areas of psychopharmacology in some depth and the Local Organising Committee felt that basic and clinical research into the interrelationship between stress, chronic inflammation and depression had matured sufficiently to sustain an international meeting. Furthermore, the current crisis in the search for novel psychotropic drugs raises the possibility of identifying mechanisms associated with stress and depression which could act as targets for new drug development. Hopefully the programme which we have developed will provide the basis for creative discussions and a stimulus for novel drug discovery. Most importantly, we hope that the programme will bring together basic and clinical neuroscientists to exchange ideas and create new networks for advancing research.

Members of the Local Organising Committee look forward to welcoming you to Dublin in June 2015 to share with us the best in Irish culture and psychopharmacology.

Brian Leonard

Chairman: Local Organising Committee
