Vision for the CINP Traumatic Stress Global Networking Community

The Global Traumatic Stress Network envisions a professional network where the impact of traumatic stress is recognized, understood, and addressed through interdisciplinary collaboration, scientific innovation, and education. We aim to drive progress in research, clinical practice, and policy by enhancing visibility for overlooked aspects of traumatic stress and ensuring that (pre-clinical) knowledge is effectively translated into action.

Key Pillars of the Vision

1. Advancing Education & Knowledge Dissemination

  • Establish a global learning ecosystem that trains and equips professionals across disciplines with cutting-edge knowledge on traumatic stress.
  • Develop accessible e-learning modules, masterclasses, and certification programs tailored for clinicians, researchers, and policymakers.
  • Promote cross-cultural and context-sensitive education, ensuring that findings are applicable across diverse populations and trauma experiences.

2. Driving Research That Captures the Unseen

  • Encourage research on underrecognized aspects of trauma, including cumulative stress, moral injury, intergenerational trauma, and trauma in marginalized communities.
  • Support novel methodologies that go beyond traditional diagnostic frameworks, capturing the full spectrum of trauma responses.
  • Foster collaborative global studies that bridge research gaps between regions with varying resources and healthcare infrastructures.

3. Fostering Innovation & Interdisciplinary Collaboration

  • Serve as a hub for interdisciplinary exchange, uniting neuroscience, psychiatry, psychology, digital health, and social sciences to tackle trauma from multiple angles.
  • Promote the development of next-generation therapeutic approaches, including digital tools, immersive technologies, and novel pharmacological interventions.
  • Encourage the use of real-world data and AI-driven analytics to refine diagnostic and treatment strategies.

4. Enhancing Visibility & Advocacy for Traumatic Stress Studies

  • Act as a global advocate for trauma-informed policies, ensuring that traumatic stress is recognized as a public health priority.
  • Highlight populations and trauma types that are often overlooked, such as survivors of political violence, climate-related displacement, and occupational trauma in first responders.
  • Engage with media, public health organizations, and governments to shape evidence based narrative and policy network
