Apply for the 1st CINP Research Fellowship for Early Careers

The CINP Committee for Early Careers is organizing the 1st CINP Research Fellowship for Early Careers with the theme ‘Precise medicine and difficult to treat cases – from neuroscience to bedside’.

This Fellowship programme will bring together a select group of early careers to design and conduct their research projects under the mentorship of renowned experts.

The programme includes online teaching modules with top researchers in their fields, such as Profs Joseph Zohar, Pierre Blier, Gabriel Gobbi, Carlos Zarate, Anthony Grace as well as an in-person component at the 34th CINP World Congress in Montreal, Canada on 7-10th May. During the in-person session in Montreal, there will be small group discussions with experts about research methodology, project design and data collection/analysis, to mentor participants for their collaborative research project.

The expected outcome is a collaborative research project and a publication by the fellows in a scientific journal such as the IJNP.

Selected participants are required to register for the 34th CINP World Congress and attend both the online and in-person components of the fellowship programme. Participants who successfully complete the full programme will be awarded with ‘CINP Research Fellow’ certificates.

Eligibility Criteria:

  • To be an Early Career by the CINP definition*
  • To submit at least 1 document evidencing early career status
  • To submit an updated CV
  • To submit a motivational letter
Motivational letter must explain why they applicant is suitable for such a fellowship programme and outline the proposal of a research project that is feasible for an international group of early careers from diverse backgrounds.

Applicants with a recommendation letter from a CINP member will be prioritized, however it is not mandatory.

*Definition of early careers (all subject to evidencing document and final approval from the CINP Committee Early Careers Committee):

  • Psychiatric trainees with more than 2 years of training and psychiatrists up to 5 years post psychiatric qualification
  • Researchers can be a M.D., Ph.D., Post-doctoral fellow, or Research Fellow with more than 2 years in training and up to 5 years after Ph.D. (or equivalent)

Applicants are encouraged to become CINP members.

1st CINP Research Fellowship for Early Careers is free of charge, the applicants however will need to arrange their own Congress registration, accommodation, and travel for the in-person component in Montreal, Canada.
